Tourists help expand Jubalani School project

Children In The Wilderness (CITW) is a non-profit organisation that aims to restore a sense of hope, ambition and the possibility of a bright & productive future to southern African youth. Within Zimbabwe, CITW have adopted 6 rural schools under their umbrella and with the help of donor funding, run a number of initiatives to assist children and their teachers and parents within their own milieu, such as school nutrition schemes& construction programs, village upliftment and scholarships. Jabulani Primary School is one such school, this small rural school has 214 students and is situated approximately 22km outside Victoria Falls. Unfortunately the facilities at the school are rather rudimentary and much is needed to cater for the growing student body. That said, the School Principal is a passionate & driven woman who takes great pride in her school.

The Rotary Club of Victoria Falls works closely with CITW on numerous programmes and recently referred visitors from Canada who wanted to make a difference to disadvantaged students. The ladies of Summerlea Golf Club in Canada were excited at the idea of helping Jabulani Primary School and with thanks to their fund raising benefits were able to send a generous donation.

It was decided to combine Summerlea’s funding with other donor funding received to add another two toilets to a project that originally would have included four toilets. The finished project will now comprise of 6 toilets– 3 girls and 3 boys. On behalf of the students of Jabulani Primary School, grateful thanks are extended to everyone involved.

Children in the Wilderness is supported by Wilderness Safaris.
